Arthur Read established his Yorkshire based retail jewellery business in 1948. The company is still owned and managed by the Read family and remains totally independent.

Our staff are fully trained to the highest standards by the National Association of Goldsmiths and are available to assist and advise without obligation. Our staff includes an NAG Registered Valuer, a Fellow of the Gemmological Association, a holder of the Gemmological Association Gem Diamond Diploma and the NAG JET diploma courses.

The majority of our stock comprises rare,
unique or unrepeatable one-off antique, pre-owned
or individually selected new jewellery. All second
hand jewellery has been thoroughly cleaned and
where necessary, sympathetically refurbished.

Our easy payment scheme lets you reserve any item
of our stock with a small deposit, leaving up to ten months to pay the balance with no additional charges.

We are always pleased to make a cash offer for your unwanted jewellery. We need an hour to inspect the
age, style, quality and condition of your valuables and calculate their value. Our offers are made in writing and put you under no obligation whatsoever.

If you use your unwanted jewellery as part exchange against an item from our stock we will offer you at least 10% (and up to 100%) more than for a straight sale.
